Personalized Nutrition Counseling

Erika Horowitz, MS, RDN is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) who provides personalized nutrition counseling using an evidence-based, practical approach. Erika collaborates with her clients to help them feel empowered, find balance and have a healthy relationship with food to get results.  A believer in the power of real, whole foods that are minimally processed, portion control and moderation, Erika promotes realistic nutritional changes that can make a big difference.

Erika holds a Masters of Science in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. After completing her clinical training at NYU Langone Medical Center, Erika worked as a clinical nutritionist at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

She then worked as a Nutritionist in a private practice, Keri Gans Nutrition, where she provided nutritional counseling to patients seeking weight loss, weight gain and weight maintenance, plus nutritional management of chronic conditions including diabetes, high cholesterol and heart disease.

Erika was then the on-site Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at Discovery Communications in NYC where she counseled employees one-on-one for nutritional management of diabetes, high cholesterol, weight loss and overall better health, plus she conducted regular company-wide nutrition education seminars. Erika now provides nutritional counseling within her own private practice to clients looking to improve their health and wellness. She also consults for a leading childhood nutrition education company, to expand their nutrition education program nationwide.

Erika is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group. She was formerly the Communications Editor position for the New York State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for two years, and was Recording Secretary for one year. Erika has also held prior leadership positions within the Greater New York Dietetic Association. Prior to being an RDN, Erika was a healthcare communications and public relations professional. Her background helps her translate scientific information into sensible nutrition advice. Erika is also a wife, and a mom of three. In her free time, she loves to run, bike and do yoga.
